The band was formed in 1996 while they were students at Indiana University, but disbanded thanks to a large online following. A 1998 video, a recording of their 12 Days of Christmas performance, was seen over 17 million times on YouTube and earned him a recording contract with Atlantic. They have since released five studio albums, reaching Billboard’s Top 40 three times. The New Old Fashioned was released in 2015, while their most recent album is 2018’s One Shot.
